This TV is LEGIT!! Amazing 4K picture quality. Surprisingly good sound quality from the TV speakers when not using the surround system. When a movie scene goes dark in a dark room (e.g. man cave), there is NO perceptible light coming from the screen--NONE. The black is so black it looks like the TV has turned completely off! Faster refresh rate (2.8ms) than the other Samsung QLED's (including the Q90T) and the small handful of competitor models I compared side-by-side. According to sites I researched, the quality drop-off for Samsung's QLED line happens below this model--Q90T (8.4), Q80T (8.3), Q70T (7.4), and Q60T (7.3)--so I took that into consideration when deciding where the sweet spot was for price and quality. I love to watch sports and movies, and the Q80T delivers!!
I paired the 85” Q80T with the Samsung HW-Q70T soundbar. The image smooth motion, upscaling, vibrant colors and ATMOS experience is amazing. The cinemas will be seeing me at lot less even after Covid.
