I have a Rolex Submariner and a stainless steel Swiss army. Just wanted a durable fun watch to wear and not worry about. Super light weight and the illuminating numbers are so cool at night time. Totally dig it!
I scratched the face on a dog collar during a rescue the first day I wore the black ops carbon to work. Contacted the retailer, no help. Contacted Luminox and was given the phone number of a repair shop all the way across the country which quoted me a repair fee of almost half the value of the watch. Luminox does not stand behind their product. Buyer beware. If you are looking for a watch that will stand up to the demands of real life or are a person that demands durability, you will be totally let down. I should have bought 2 g-shock watches instead of this piece of junk.... Thanks for the cold, corporate experience Luminox! Never again will I even consider your product.
Luminox has a lot of fan boys and an equal number of haters. The fanboys think it's some kind of super-watch developed for the Navy SEALs in a special Skunk Works lab in Area 51. The haters think it's an outrageously overpriced piece of plastic that does its job no better than a $20 Timex Ironman. Well... the truth is somewhere in-between. This watch works great, is very reliable, is very battery efficient, and looks cool. But in the end it is a simple time/date watch with no extra features at all. So it all comes down to preference. If you like the way it looks, and want nothing more than a reliable analog timepiece, then it is well worth the money. It should last you a long time and serve you well. If you don't totally dig the watch, and wish it had more functions, then spend half the money and get a good G-Shock of your choosing. Myself, I have both, because I like quality watches of all kind. Not because I want to look like a badass Navy SEAL. They, like any other soldier, generally wear the cheapest reliable waterproof multi-function watch they can find...like an Ironman or G-Shock. But probably never a Luminox of any kind.
