This is the best upgrade I have ever done on my computer !!! Everything runs sooooo much faster than before. I used to have to wait for several seconds ( between 6 to 20 seconds ) or more , but now its almost a quick click away !!! I sure wish I had done this sooner, I have wasted sooooo much time waiting on things to load. If there is one thing you can do to speed up your computer, do this !!!!! You won't be sorry............ever again !!!!!
My computer had the original 2 GB ram (DDR3, 10600, 1333Mhz ,240 pin Dimm, Non ECC, Un-buffered. it booted up slow and took forever to load web pages. I have Malwarebytes Anti Malware software program and run it a couple of times a week but my computer is slow. I Use Pinnacle Studio 14 video/audio editing software program and it runs really slow and can't handle large HD videos in MP4 file format. It takes forever to compile and render the videos. Then if the video is too big it makes a movie missing most of the video. I have Cox high speed internet with Essentials Technical Support. I called their Tech support and had them remotely run diagnostic and repair software to speed up my computer. It took about 50 minutes. They suggested I un-installed programs I don't use anymore. Also to store my videos on an external drive. The last thing the Tech told me was if I add the full 8GB (2X4GB in 2 slots) ram memory, due to Windows 7 64bit OS, it will speed up my PC even more. If your OS isn't 64 bit then the ram memory is limited to 4 GB. I took his advise and did everything he suggested. I just installed the new 8 GB DDR3 from Atech in Ohio. My PC booted up much faster than before. The websites too load faster and the windows error screen of "Script too long to load" doesn't come up anymore. I will edit some more videos this week and believe my Pinnacle software will work much better. When installing the ram it was a tight fit. I had to hold the computer on the opposite side as I pushed the ram into the slots. I seated the top then the bottom and the first time I turned on the PC it booted up. In System Tools It shows the new Ram at 8GB. Thanks Atech. Michael Hoffman
8 GB DDR3 for a basic Dell 7010 brings mine up to the maximum of 16. This is not fancy and is standard speed for wide compatibility over the Intel DDR3 10600 spectrum. Likely would work fine with any AMD chipset also.
